KHS off to fast start in swim season
ISHPEMING – The Kingsford Flivvers opened the swim season Saturday at the Westwood Relays, with the girls team taking six of seven events.
“The boys and girls had a good meet,” Flivvers head coach Jim Lindstrom said, noting that the boys team was missing three swimmers. “With the missing swimmers, we had a lot of empty lanes due to entry limits. Overall I was happy to see that the team is doing well for this early in the season.”
Kingsford has 10 boys on the team, but coach Lindstrom said they really need a few more. Girls numbers are solid, other than Coach Lindstrom hoping that there were a few more underclassmen coming up.
The Flivvers’ first full meet is set for Dec. 2 at Houghton.
