Florence puts 4 in double figures in win over Rangers

Florence built a 39-18 halftime lead and went on to defeat Wausaukee 77-48 in non-conference boys basketball action Monday.

The visiting Bobcats put four players in double figures — led by 23 from Truth Setner.

“It’s always nice to get back on the winning side of things, especially going into the holiday break,” said Florence coach Bryan Bomberg. “Our schedule was pretty grueling; however, I think our team is growing up and starting to settle into the smaller things that mean a great deal in basketball.”

Bowen Spears added 14 points for the Bobcats while Carson Chrisman scored 13 and Bradly Steber netted 12. Rounding out Florence’s scoring were Promice Setner with eight points; Carter Reed, five; and Mason Koski, two.

“Overall, happy, but lots to continue to build on,” Bomberg said.

The Rangers (1-4) were led by Gavin Thomson’s 16 points and 13 from Ryan Huber.

The Bobcats (2-4) will host Reedsville on Monday.

Starting at $3.50/week.
