Nordics return to winning ways; Price leads Forest Park
POWERS – Ty King led three double-digit scorers with 14 points as the North Dickinson Nordics defeated host North Central 53-38 Tuesday to snap their short two-game losing skid.
Spencer Kramer finished with 13 points and five rebounds and Trenton Kramer added 10 points for the UPSSA Division 4 fourth-ranked Nordics (14-3).
The Nordics put in a steady shift offensively. They led 14-7 after one quarter, scored 15 in the second to take a 29-17 lead at halftime. ND posted 13 points in the third quarter to go up 42-30 and then outscored NC 11-8 in the final frame.
Other scorers for ND included Tyler Fleming with six points, Jason Graham with five and Brady Jungwirth with five.
Jungwirth led his team in assists with six, while Graham and Fleming recorded three steals each.
Ben Stage led the Jets (6-10) with nine points.
Forest Park 71,
Norway 34
Freshman Lyle Price scorched the nets for 31 points, draining nine of 10 3-pointers, as Forest Park improved to 15-3 on the season with a win over Norway on Tuesday.
Vic Giuliani added 16 points and Dax Huuki netted 14 for the Trojans, who led 33-15 at halftime.
Also contributing for Forest Park were Devin Koga, 6 points, Jace Hagglund, three points, and Izaiah Tarter, a free throw.
The Trojans travel to Munising on Friday.
Norway (11-9) will be at North Central on Friday.
