Koski paces ‘Cats in 3-2 victory
Florence’s Mason Koski ripped a triple and a single and earned the victory on the mound in a 3-2 win at Niagara on Friday.
Koski worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and one walk while fanning 12. Bradly Steber got the final two outs to seal the outcome.
Florence led 3-0 before the Badgers scored in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run single by Landon Sweig.
The Bobcats tagged Niagara for seven hits and five walks, and had three batters hit by pitches. They left 13 runners on base, striking out a dozen times.
Niagara starting pitcher Dwight Hedmark went four innings, allowing six hits, walking three and striking out six. He was charged with one earned run.
Brayden Bartels shut out the Bobcats over three innings of relief.
Florence’s Carson Chrisman collected a pair of singles and Logan McCoy doubled.
The Bobcats (4-1) are at Crandon on Tuesday.
Niagara (4-2) travels to Lena today and hosts Iron Mountain on Tuesday.
