DE PERE, Wis. – St. Norbert College hosted its annual Norby Awards ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments and athletic excellence of Green Knights student-athletes.
Kamdan Johnson of Florence, Wis., was recognized as Freshman of the Year.
Johnson broke several school records in her first year in track and field with the Green Knights, including the 60-meter hurdles at 8.97 seconds, which was also a new Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference mark.
Along with four NACC Athlete of the Week honors, Johnson was named the conference’s women’s freshman of the meet at the NACC Indoor Championship.
The women’s track and field team had a dominating performance at the NACC Outdoor Championship at Wisconsin Lutheran College’s Raabe Stadium. The Green Knights rolled to 284.5 points at the meet, easily outdistancing runner-up Concordia University Wisconsin’s 162 points and third-place Milwaukee School of Engineering’s 108 points.
St. Norbert has won all five outdoor championships it has competed in since its first NACC meet in 2022.
Johnson swept the hurdle events, winning the 100 meters in 15.41 seconds and the 400 meters in 1:07.82.
