Rain brings relief, but fire danger persists; early drawdown at Victoria Dam

IRON MOUNTAIN — The fire risk in the Dickinson County area is now medium thanks to recent showers, but officials continue to urge care with campfires, off-road vehicles and trailer chains or anything else that might cause a spark. Michigan reports deer damage permit harvests

IRON MOUNTAIN — Nearly 350 deer have been harvested in Dickinson County so far this year, including 129 antlerless deer taken under damage permits, according to data from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
