Hazardous waste disposal Saturday

Quinnesec — Great American Disposal will be having a hazardous waste disposal day on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon for Dickinson County residents only at the Dickinson County Solid Waste Processing Facility.

The facility is located at W7702 U.S. 2 in Quinnesec.

This collection is free of charge. Identifications will be checked. This is for Dickinson County residents only, no businesses.

Items acceptable for collection are: oil base and enamel paint; (no latex or water base paint); spray cans; paint thinners; mineral spirits; turpentine; acid wash; primers and stains; polyurethane; wood and deck cleaners; antifreeze; old gas and gas additives; car wax and cleaners; pesticides/herbicides/bug and weed killers.

Other items to be collected include: Fire extinguishers that have not been used with chemicals still intact; mercury switches/thermometers; florescent bulbs (small); alkaline batteries (small); oven cleaners; bleach; and furniture polish.

To help speed the process, please have your ID’s ready along with a detailed list of items.

For your safety and that of others, do not mix products. Keep Products in the original containers. Label products not in original containers. Secure products so they won’t leak.
