Flivvers pummel Bulldogs, 50-8

HANCOCK — The Kingsford varsity football team continued its WestPAC – Copper Division dominance Friday as it took its talents to Hancock and bullied the Bulldogs in a 50-8 win.

The Flivvers, ranked No. 2 in 11-player football by the UPSSA, are now 6-0 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.

They are tied with Menominee for first place in the conference. The Maroons are ranked No.1, according to the UPSSA.

Through six games, the Flivvers had outscored opponents, 184-43 this season.

Senior quarterback Nic Novarra went 3 for 3 through the air with one passing TD. Gavin Grondin hauled in the TD pass.

As a team, Kingsford had four rushing TDs.

Ian Spencer had two rushing TDs while Jack Olson and Andres Finley each scored one. Olson had seven carries for 108 yards.

Defensively, the Flivvers were dominant as Thomas Maynard scored on a 73-yard interception return while Finley added a sack that resulted in a safety.

Kingsford returns to Flivver Field on Friday for another conference clash, this time with Westwood. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.

The Patriots are 1-4 in conference play and 2-4 overall after falling to Negaunee, 42-6, on the road.
