Northwoods Geology Club to meet Wednesday
FLORENCE, Wis. — The Northwoods Geology Club will begin its 2024 season of meetings at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the lower level of the Florence Natural Resource Center. Those attending should follow the DMV signs to the back parking lot. All are encouraged to bring a favorite rock to show at the meeting. Anyone with rocks, minerals or other items to give away or trade should bring them as well. Post 145 plans breakfast on Sunday
NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will serve an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the hall. Menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, hashbrown potatoes, toast, fruit salad, coffee, milk and juice. Cost is $10 per person, with children age 6 and younger eating for free. Cribbage tournament set
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 of Iron Mountain will host a monthly cribbage tournament Saturday, with games to start at 1 p.m. Cost is $20 a team or 25 cents for a 19 hand. No Post 50 fish fry Friday
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Friday fish fry at the Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 has been canceled this week. It will resume April 26, serving three-piece cod or 10 fried shrimp dinners, along with fries, baked beans and coleslaw. Cost is $13 per plate. Dine-in or takeout is available.
