Pumpkin roll on Oct. 12 at Balsam Street church

KINGSFORD — The Balsam Street Christian Church in Kingsford will host a Pumpkin Roll for kids of all ages on from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12., Bring your own pumpkin and get ready to roll. Pumpkins can only be between 6-inches and 17-inches in size. Prizes will be given in each size range. Hot coffee, cocoa and/or hot apple cider will be served in the church basement. If the weather doesn’t cooperate on Saturday, we will try again on Sunday, Oct. 13.

Annual Harvest Dinner planned at Faithorn hall

FAITHORN — Faithorn United Methodist Church will host its annual Harvest Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Faithorn Township hall. The menu will include chicken, meatballs, a variety of fall vegetables and homemade pies. Cost is $13 per person in advance or $15 at the door. Children 6 and younger are free to receive a kids meal with treat. For advance tickets call 906-864-0250. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy good food and good time with neighbors.

Corn maze in Norway

NORWAY — Living Hope Community Bible Church in Norway invites the public to its free annual corn maze and pumpkin patch outreach, which starts this weekend. Two mazes have been set up —one especially for children — along with three pumpkin patches where each child can pick a pumpkin for free. Hayrides, scavenger hunts, games, slides, refreshments and more can be enjoyed at this family-friendly event, which takes place at the Baciak Farm, W6151 Baciak Lane in Norway. Free meal Sunday at Crossroads in Norway

NORWAY — Grace Methodist Church of Norway will offer a free community meal from 5 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. The menu will include barbecue ribs or chicken (no choice), potato, vegetable and dessert. The meals will be available for take out at the church parking lot. Reservations are required by calling Chris Spence at 906-282-9752 by 4 p.m. Friday, to allow for enough food to be prepared. The church, known as Crossroads, a facility shared by Grace Methodist and Bethany Lutheran churches, is at 130 Odill Drive.
