Holy Tuesday service set for March 31

KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus and the Iron Mountain Area Clergy Association will have the annual Holy Tuesday service beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at American Martyrs Catholic Church, 908 W. Sagola Ave. in Kingsford. The ecumenical service consists of scripture readings and choral anthems based on the Lenten season. The chorus is under the direction of Principal Conductor Crystal Hogan and accompanied on piano by Jean Panek. Knights of Columbus to host Lenten fish bakes

KINGSFORD — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Knights of Columbus Bishop Baraga Council 1585 will host its Friday night Lenten fish bakes on Friday and April 3 at the hall, 520 W. Breitung Ave. in Kingsford. Dinners will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Carryout is available. The menu includes baked cod, mashed or baked potato, cole slaw, dinner roll and dessert. Cost is $17 for adults, $9 for ages 6 to 12; those younger than 6 can eat for free. The public is welcome.

American Martyrs to host Winter Carnival on Saturday

KINGSFORD — American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford will host a Winter Carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Kids are invited to come and play games to win prizes. Tickets are 10 cents each. Games will take one to three tickets to play. They will also have a cake walk, face painting, free food and door prizes. The church is at 908 W. Sagola Ave.

Norway church to offer a Christmas community meal Sunday

NORWAY — Grace Methodist Church of Norway will offer a free Christmas community meal from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The menu will include barbecue pork, oven-browned potatoes, vegetable, roll and dessert. There is no cost for the dinner; a donation basket will be available. The free meal will be available for takeout from the church parking lot. Reservations will be required by 4 p.m. Friday for the holiday meal and can be made by calling Chris Spence at 906-282-9752. Reservations due today for free Christmas meal

KINGSFORD — The First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford will serve a free meal on Christmas Day by delivery or drive-thru pick-up only. Members of community can enjoy a free ham dinner that can be delivered directly to their homes or picked up at the church. Deliveries will begin at 11 a.m. and pick-ups are available from 11 a.m. until noon. Those taking part are asked to enter the parking lot using the Hamilton Avenue entrance, where parking lot attendants will then guide them into the right line.
