DCCC to begin weekly rehearsals

KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus will begin rehearsals at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, in preparation for the upcoming “Sounds of Christmas” concert. Rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings in the Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford. The children’s chorus, under the direction of Dawn Kranz, will begin rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3.

First Presbyterian Church plans open house to honor the Rev. Mike March

KINGSFORD — First Presbyterian Church of Kingsford has announced the retirement of the Rev. Michael March, effective the end of September. Pastor Mike and his wife, Lorna, were called to this community and church in November 1991, and they will enjoy retirement in their beloved Upper Peninsula. First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford, invites the Iron Mountain/Kingsford community to an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday to celebrate and honor Pastor Mike and Lorna March.

Florence Parish offering free programs

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence Parish, which is a partnership in Christian Ministry between the First Presbyterian and Bethlehem Lutheran churches, has planned several special programs they hope will be timely and helpful for friends, neighbors and residents of the community and the surrounding area. All events are free and open to the public. At 10 a.m. Sunday, the parish will host its annual outdoor worship service led by the Rev. Cathy Morris at the Keyes Lake Pavilion. Mobile food pantry today in Kingsford

KINGSFORD — The next Feeding America West Michigan mobile food pantry will be today at the Ever After Event Center, 420 N. Hooper St. in Kingsford. Drive-thru food distribution begins at 10 a.m., with registration starting at 9 a.m. The organizers are asking that customers approach the Event Center from Woodward Avenue and North Boulevard, and avoid entering from Carpenter or Breitung avenues.
