IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. The group will host The Automatons, who will share their journey in robotics. The Automatons are a FIRST — For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — Robotics team based in Iron River. Founded in 2019, the team is open to high school students who are homeschooled or attend public schools in Iron County. Visitors are welcome. IRON MOUNTAIN — Senior girls from Iron Mountain High School and Kingsford High School were honored with a tea on May 13, hosted by the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Women’s Club. Eighty girls attended the 91st-annual tea at Pine Grove Country Club. The members of the women’s club and the girls enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken salad on a croissant bun, salad and a fruit cup. Local administrators and staff represented the two local schools.
