Genealogical Society to meet Thursday

IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the J. Patrick White Conference Room at the West Iron District Library. The group will host The Automatons, who will share their journey in robotics. The Automatons are a FIRST — For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology — Robotics team based in Iron River. Founded in 2019, the team is open to high school students who are homeschooled or attend public schools in Iron County. IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Club will host its final meeting of the year at noon Friday, June 6, at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain. Members are reminded to wear “Kentucky Derby hats” as program presenter Emily Cummings will give an overview of the Kentucky Derby. The luncheon menu will be lasagna and garlic bread. Iron Mountain/Kingsford Women’s Club hosts annual tea

IRON MOUNTAIN — Senior girls from Iron Mountain High School and Kingsford High School were honored with a tea on May 13, hosted by the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Women’s Club. Eighty girls attended the 91st-annual tea at Pine Grove Country Club. The members of the women’s club and the girls enjoyed a delicious meal of chicken salad on a croissant bun, salad and a fruit cup. Local administrators and staff represented the two local schools. IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain area Finnish American Raja Ryhma organization will have its annual Juhannus Picnic on Saturday, June 21, at the Iron Mountain City Park’s Bradley Maki Pavilion — the log structure with a sky-blue roof near the Deer Park.
