Florence Historic Building Walk on Thursday

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Florence County Historical Society will conduct its second guided walk of the the community’s historic buildings at 6 p.m. Thursday. The walk starts at the museum at 201 Florence Ave. off U.S. 2. Parking is available between the museum and the yellow Webb-Judge house and an adjacent lot. A rest and refreshment stop is planned midway at the Encore on Central, hosted by Rachel and Don Egelseer, which will include a brief history and interior tour of the Encore. PEO Chapter AN meets on Sept. 16

IRON MOUNTAIN — The next meeting of PEO Chapter AN will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at the home of Alene Lake. Barbara Forgette is the co-hostess. Members are asked to let them know if unable to attend. They are looking forward to a new season.

Iron County Genealogical Society meeting set

IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the J. Patrick White Conference Room of the West Iron District Library. Members and guests are encouraged to bring in recent finds to share, whether they are oral, postcards, letters, articles, photos, artifacts or other memorabilia. Dues were to be paid July 1. Visitors are welcome. Meetings are open to all individuals and take place monthly in the J. Patrick White Conference Room of the West Iron District Library. North Country Cruisers to meet

CRYSTAL FALLS — The North Country Cruisers Car Club meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of each month at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2891 in Crystal Falls. The group meets through October and will start again in May.

Women’s Club plans meeting Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Club will have its opening meeting for the new year Friday. They will gather at noon at Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain. The luncheon cost will be $20, all inclusive. Reservations are required for the luncheon.
