Golden K hosts children’s Valentine’s party

KINGSFORD — Valentine’s Day is traditionally a celebration of romance and love. Each year, the members of the Golden K host a Valentine’s party to celebrate with the special needs children in the area. Members arrived early to set up tables and craft area, fill treat bags, and prepare snacks. Many hands make light work and members were appreciative of the extra help received. Post 50 fish fry set for tonight

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at the hall. The dinners will include a choice of smelt, three-piece cod or 10 fried shrimp, along with fries, baked beans and coleslaw. Cost is $13 per plate. Dine-in or take out is available. The post will conduct fish fries weekly.

Smear tournament set for Saturday in Niagara

NIAGARA, Wis. — The Knights of Columbus Fr. Damian Council 2847 of Niagara will host its annual smear tournament Saturday at St. Anthony’s Church Hall in Niagara. Stamp club plans meeting Tuesday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The monthly meeting of the Northwoods Philatelic Society stamp club is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Room of First Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain. The church is located between Domino’s Pizza and Slumberland Furniture. A short business meeting and educational program, will be followed by the usual informal stamp club auction. NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Knights of Columbus will host its annual smear tournament Saturday in the hall of St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1432 River St. in Niagara. Registration is from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. Beer, pop and food will be available, along with prizes.
