Post 50 hosts fish fry Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. The dinners will include a choice of three-piece cod or 10 fried shrimp, along with fries, baked beans and coleslaw. Cost is $13 per plate. Dine-in or take out is available. The post will conduct fish fries weekly.

Group plans lunch

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Foxy Loxy Red Hats will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wild Horse Saloon in Iron Mountain.

Zonta selling Koeze Nuts, chocolates

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain-Kingsford Zonta Club is once again selling Koeze Gourmet Nuts and Chocolates for the holiday season. A variety of nuts and chocolates are available for purchase at O.M. GIGI in Iron Mountain and Ultimate Bride in Norway during regular business hours. Proceeds go to benefit charities sponsored by the Zonta Club.

Tufts-Rondon VFW plans events today

CRYSTAL FALLS — The Tufts Rondon VFW Post 2891 and Auxiliary in Crystal Falls will participate in the Wreaths Across America ceremony at 11 a.m. today at the Crystal Falls VFW post, 108 Superior Ave. A luncheon will take place immediately after the ceremony. Santa will visit the VFW from 1 to 3 p.m. today. All children will receive a Christmas goodie bag. If weather permits Santa will be outside by the Veterans Memorial, otherwise he will greet visitors inside the VFW main hall.

Post 145 breakfast on Sunday

NORWAY — The American Legion Post 145 of Norway will host an all-you-can eat breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, French toast, hashbrown potatoes, toast, coffee, milk, juice and fruit salad. Cost is $9 per person; children 6 and younger can eat for free. Everyone is welcome. The post is at 612 Main St. in Norway. The public should note that no legion breakfast will take place in December.
