Third Thursday event planned tonight

THE IRON MOUNTAIN Downtown Development Authority is hosting a block party from 4 to 9 p.m. today with music by Bryan Drewyor, the One Human Band, on the Sandstone Terrace. One of the projects the DDA has undertaken is the umbrellas that hang between the First National Bank & Trust and the Sandstone Building.

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority will host an Art Walk and Block Party to celebrate the vibrant floating umbrellas from 4 to 9 p.m. today in the alleyway by the First National Bank & Trust.

This month’s Third Thursday event, sponsored by Linnea & Kristine, will feature music by Bryan Drewyor, the One Human Band of the local area, performing on the Sandstone Terrance starting at 6 p.m.

Shoppers will again receive raffle tickets as they visit, dine and shop during extended hours. One ticket can be earned per person, per business and event sponsor Linnea & Kristine will present three raffle tickets to their customers.

Participants must bring all earned tickets to Sandstone Terrace by 7:20 p.m. to be entered into the drawing. The DDA will draw for prizes at 7:30 p.m.

While shopping, everyone can enjoy local art pieces around the downtown businesses, including the “Bad Art” from a recent Dickinson County Library event that will be displayed under the umbrellas.
