Camp 266 meets on Saturday
ESCANABA — Camp 266 of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will have its bimonthly meeting at 2 p.m. Eastern time Saturday at the All Veterans Museum on the grounds of the Upper Peninsula Fairgrounds in Escanaba.
The meeting also will be available via Zoom. Email dewjones49@gmail.com for the link. The camp aided in the development of the Civil War exhibit in the museum.
Officers for 2021 will be installed.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of the heroes who fought and worked to save the Union.
Camp 266 includes members from across the Upper Peninsula. The focus of the camp is locating, marking and maintaining graves of Civil War veterans as well as researching Civil War history.
Anyone, including women, interested in the Civil War history is welcome to attend.
