PATH Toolkit Telephone Course offered

LANSING, Mich. — The PATH Toolkit Telephone Course is a series of six weekly telephone calls with a leader and two to three other people living with chronic conditions.

The course is offered starting Friday through Dec. 31, 2021. Family members, friends and caregivers also are encouraged to attend.

Three courses are available: chronic disease, diabetes and chronic pain.

Those who register for this course will be placed on a list and contacted with dates and times when there are enough for a group.

Participants can learn to:

— Work with health care providers;

— Manage symptoms such as pain, fatigue, difficult emotions, sleep problems and depression;

— Make lifestyle changes such as healthy eating and physical activity;

— Set goals and accomplish them.

Participants reported several benefits, including being able to share with others who understand, taking ownership of their condition, knowing they are not alone and the ability to have their voice heard.

The course is free, with having a telephone the only requirement. For more information, contact Christi Demitz at demitzch@msu.edu or 517-490-1608.

Starting at $3.50/week.
