Whoever loves knows God

An elderly woman suddenly began to have doubts about the existence of God. She could not understand why this was happening. Finally, she decided to see a priest for help.
After telling the priest her problem, he asked her if there was anyone she had difficulty getting along with. She said it would be her next-door neighbor. He simply said, “Begin to love your neighbor more actively and more concretely, beginning with prayer for her.”
It was quite a process, but it really bore fruit. Her faith was renewed.
The priest’s advice jibes with the words of John’s gospel, “Whoever loves knows God.”
Someone once wrote: “I sought my soul, but my soul I could not see.
“I sought my God, but my God eluded me. I sought my brother, and I found all three.”
God bless.
