ALEXIS DUHON

IRON MOUNTAIN — Alexis Duhon of Kingsford was the recipient of the Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Sigma Chapter Scholarship in the amount of $400.

The Beta Sigma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International annually awards a scholarship to a female pursuing a career in education. It is given in recognition of academic leadership, extracurricular achievements, a passion for personal learning and a desire to help others learn.

Duhon, the daughter of Michelle Chartier of Kingsford, will continue her education at Northern Michigan University, where she will major in secondary education with an emphasis on Spanish.

Duhon stated in her essay, “So many of my teachers have made a huge impact on my life. I want to have that impact on someone else’s life and to help those who need it.”
