CRYSTAL FALLS — Forest Park Achievement Hall of Fame recently inducted classes of 2020 and 2021 during a banquet at Young’s Recreational Complex in Iron River.
Class of 2020 members included Chester Pintarelli, Stu Smith, Rudy Enstrom and Mark Oliverius.
Class of 2021 members were Cindy (Nocerini) Dingell, Herbert Larson Sr., Thad Stender and Charlie Sandstrom.
Those inductees able to attend were Dingell, Pintarelli, Sandstrom and Stender. They were treated to a wonderful meal from Alice’s Restaurant. The staff at Young’s was exceptional, and the night was filled with great stories and laughter
Despite their impressive resumes, they all expressed gratitude for their years at the Forest Park School District. A common theme was their collective praise of the community and message to the current students to aim high and work hard in life.
Sandstrom said it well: “If you can leave your driveway in the morning with a smile on your face, and come home in the evening with a smile on your face the rest will take care of itself.”
Stender remarked on numerous job offers he received over the years and chances to further his career at the collegiate level and beyond but noted his strong desire to use his talents and time at Forest Park.
Those talents and time were certainly not wasted as fellow inductee and current Nashville, Tenn., resident Oliverius — unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts –noted he changed paths in college from the medical field to pursue his true passion of music.
