Gifts for veterans
Members of the Iron Mountain-Kingsford General Federation of Women’s Clubs had a virtual appreciation party for the veterans at the Community Living Center at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. Veterans received gifts of games, decorations, books, special coffee, treats and cupcakes. The party was virtual because of visiting restrictions at the center. The gifts were delivered by Women’s Club Chair Inez Riverside and community members Dorleen Uhazie and Janise Bilski. The club hosts the party annually near Veterans Day to honor and thank the veterans for their service. The party was coordinated by Heather LaPalm, VA recreation therapy assistant, and Katie Maxon, chief of voluntary service. From left are Uhazie, Riverside, Bilski and Maxon.
