They also have Global Explorer Story Hours, and this year they will study the Amazon Rainforest of Brazil, the Liberty Bell of Pennsylvania, Chaco Culture National Historic Park in New Mexico, the Golden Gate Bridge in California, Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, the Grand Canyon in Arizona, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, and the Vaqueros and American Cowboys of Texas, and the Oregon Trail.
The story hours take place twice a month. Participants are asked to come into the library to pick up a paper schedule or access it on the library’s website.
— Library Club for third through fifth grades. This year will have a library club for third through fifth graders that will meet after school on Wednesdays. Each week they will read, complete a craft or activity, and listen to some music that all go with a theme.
There is an overall club theme for each month: September — Crafty Kids Club; October — Creepy Crawlers Club; November — Super Sleuth Club; January — Fractured Fairy Tale Club; February — American Girl Club; March — Secret Identity Club; and April –Pirates Club.

Taylor; “Crossover,” by Kwame Alexander; “Little Women,” by Louisa May Alcott; “Around the World in Eighty Days,” by Jules Verne; and “Treasure Island,” by Robert Louis Stevenson.
They will meet every six weeks. Students and parents interested in joining should attend the organizational meeting at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. During the meeting, members will get the first book, and they will decide what day/time will be best for the meetings.
–Young Adult Book Club, for grades nine to 12. For one year now, a Young Adult Book Club has met at the library about every six weeks. They are always looking for new members.
Their book selections come from the suggestions of its members. During the September session, they will be meeting with award-winning author Joshua C. Chadd.
He currently lives in Iron Mountain, and will be joining them to discuss his book “Outbreak (The Brother’s Creed Book 1).”
