Yoga programs underway in Florence County
AURORA, Wis. — Yoga with or without a chair is being offered at the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College-Aurora Center through a partnership with the Aging and Disability Resource Center and Public Health of Florence County.
Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. for slow-flow yoga and 10 to 11 a.m. for chair yoga. Classes run through Sept. 27.
Chair yoga will also be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays through Sept. 28 in the lower level of the Florence Resource Center in Florence, Wis.
There will be no classes the week of Sept 5.
Yoga is scientifically supported to help maintain mental health as well.
Yoga instructor Lynn Mueller is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and has had personal success in participating and leading yoga classes. She is a graduate of Florence County High School and now owns the icanyoga2 studio.
The classes are open to all adults and the program is appropriate for both sedentary and active individuals. The chair provides extra support for those who may need it, but it is not required.
Cost is $5 per session, to be paid at each class. Those interested in participating can call 715-528-3426 to sign up. Registration is required. Arrive early for the first class to complete paperwork.
