Post 50 to host fish fry Friday

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Uren-Cooper-Johnson American Legion Post 50 of Iron Mountain will host a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the hall. Customers will have a choice of walleye, three-piece cod, eight breaded shrimp, five-piece Alaskan walleye (pollock) or smelt. The meals will also include fries or homemade chips, baked beans and cole slaw. Dine-in or takeout is available. For more information or to place an order, call 906-774-5797. Friends of the Florence Library accepting sale items for fundraiser

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Friends of the Florence Library will participate in the community rummage sale on Saturday, June 6, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall on Quinnesec Street in Florence. The group is accepting non-clothing items through May 20 that can be dropped off at the library or scheduled for pick-up by calling librarian Stephanie Weber. Clothing and electronics will not be accepted. Organization of sale items will begin on early May.
