The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently had a belated 25th anniversary celebration with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new location in the former Thunder Island Music building at 220a E. Hughitt St. in downtown Iron Mountain.

The foundation — which manages endowed funds with a goal of “For good. For Ever.” — has been providing grants and scholarships to the local community since 1995. Previously in the lower level of the Franklin Square Building, the foundation staff is thrilled to be street level, allowing for easier access and visibility.

The foundation manages more than 135 individual funds with $14.25 million in assets, allowing for nearly half a million dollars annually to return to the community.

The DACF has two affiliates, the Crystal Falls Area Community Foundation and the Norway Area Community Foundation.

For more information on its work, contact the Dickinson Area Community Foundation office at 906-774-3131 or go to the foundation’s website at www.dickinsonareacf.org.

Starting at $3.50/week.
