Northern Orthopaedic practice undergoes changes
IRON MOUNTAIN — After more than 23 years of serving the area, Northern Orthopaedics is dissolving and owner and operator Dr. Steven Slajus is selling his practice.
Slajus has decided to pursue other ventures and his office suite has been purchased by Dickinson Orthopedic Practice.
“Dr. Slajus is a great doctor, we will miss him and we wish him the best of luck in his new endeavors. Dickinson Orthopedic Clinic has worked in conjunction with Northern Orthopaedics for years and we are glad to have added Dr. Michael Occhietti to our DCHS family,” said Peg Freeman, Dickinson County Healthcare chief of physician services.
The practice will now be comprised of Occhietti, Dr. Michael Veale, Dr. Sarah Venditti and physician assistant Lane Lindeman.
“Four very capable providers that will continue providing safe and quality orthopedic health care to our community,” Freeman said.
The practice will remain at its current location in Suite 100 of the Dickinson Medical Building, 1711 S. Stephenson Ave., adjacent to Dickinson Memorial Hospital.
In addition, all of the patient medical records will remain in place as they currently exist at that location.
Patients who have questions or concerns regarding this transition, the status of their medical records or their ongoing health care needs should contact the clinic at 906-779-9870, Freeman said.
