Walmart to limit customers
IRON MOUNTAIN – Walmart is announcing changes to its stores’ policies with the hope to encourage social distancing amongst its customers by limiting the number of people who can be in a store at one time.
The new policy goes into effect today and will not allow any more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time.
The company says it will manage this restriction by marking a queue at a single-entry door and directing arriving customers there. From that entrance, customers will be admitted one-by-one and counted.
Once a store reaches its capacity, customers will be admitted inside on a “1-out-1-in” basis.
Walmart also plans to institute a one-way movement through aisles starting next week in a number of stores.
