Beacon cuts back on transfers

IRON MOUNTAIN — Integrity Care EMS of Iron Mountain has pledged additional support to provide transfer services for Dickinson County Healthcare System following Beacon Ambulance’s decision Friday to no longer transfer patients outside of a 30-mile radius, said Joe Rizzo, DCHS director of public relations.

“Integrity has historically shared the patient transfer duties with Beacon and, with a six-ambulance fleet, they are well-equipped to care for all of our patient’s needs,” Rizzo said. “Neighboring health systems have also offered support should we need it. We respect Beacon’s business decision as we ourselves know that changes to daily operations are sometimes necessary,” he added.

Starting at $3.50/week.
