Firefighters called to Airgas in IM
IRON MOUNTAIN — There were no injuries reported Monday after three containers of liquid oxygen fell off a forklift at Airgas on Traders Mine Road in Iron Mountain.
Firefighters were called to the building at 11:19 a.m., which was evacuated by the time they arrived, according to a release from Iron Mountain Director of Police and Fire Services Ed Mattson.
The three containers were slightly inverted and leaking. Once the leaks subsided, an air quality test confirmed the area was safe to work in, Mattson stated.
With the assistance of an Airgas employee, firefighters were able to upright and secure the containers.
There was no danger to the public as a result of the incident, the release stated.
Firefighters returned to the station at about 2:19 p.m.
