IM’s Pickett stifles Bobcats
Iron Mountain’s Connor Pickett held Florence to three hits as the Mountaineers prevailed 5-2 in non-conference baseball Thursday at LiUNA Field.
Pickett struck out five and walked none in the six-inning game, though he did hit four batters.
The Mountaineers were paced at the plate by Gavin Winters and Joey Wahoviak, cracking two singles each. Lane Wender and Max White also singled.
Mason Koski slugged a solo home run for the Bobcats. Logan McCoy and Bradly Steber singled for the other Florence hits.
McCoy pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs. He walked four, struck out six, and hit one batter.
Florence’s Bradly Steber faced one batter, recording a strikeout.
