Menominee Range Nordic Ski Club starts youth league Sunday

THE DICKINSON AREA Community Foundation recently awarded a $250 mini-grant to the Menominee Range Nordic Ski Club for trail maintenance at City Park. The DACF earlier had given the club $3,000 to purchase youth ski equipment for children to learn the sport at no cost. IRON MOUNTAIN –The first outing of the Menominee Range Nordic Ski Club’s Youth Ski League will be 1 p.m. Sunday in City Park.

Participants should meet at the ski club’s trailhead sign/parking lot in the park. Those attending who own their own equipment should bring it, but youth and parents who do not also are welcome to come.

The ski club is trying to determine sizes needed so it can find more equipment for kids and parents interested in the sport.
