Preparing paczki for Fat Tuesday
In celebration of Fat Tuesday, Tadych’s Family Market of Iron Mountain has been busy making the traditional paczki. While in past years the store cranks out an average of 6,000 of the Polish donuts, more preorders this year prompted them to prepare 9,000 to 10,000. Paczki are a deep-fried spheres of dough that have a sweet filling. “They are just a glorified Bismarck,” said Scott Johnson, bakery director.
