VA to host veterans health care presentation

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center will host a veterans health care presentation at 5 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Post 50, 916 River Ave, Iron Mountain.

There will be presentations focused on these specific items:

— Veteran Healthcare Information Exchange – New updates regarding when this program will be implemented, how it works, and who is involved.

— Whole Health — Program updates regarding new programs for Veterans that focus on the needs and goals of the individual.

— Caregiver Support – Program updates and new information regarding changes in eligibility, who is considered a caregiver, as well as resources for new caregivers.

— The Medical Center will give updates regarding the progress of the expansion of the Community Living Center.

These presentations will be followed with an opportunity for those who are present to ask any questions they may have regarding these subjects as well as any other VA services. For those who are unable to come in person the townhall will be streamed live on the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center’s Facebook page, and the video post will be available for later viewing.

“We want to provide our veterans with important health care information that may be of benefit to them while also getting their input on the care we provide and answering any questions they may have,” said John Jamison, spokesperson for the VA Medical Center.
