Dickinson County sets safety protocols for courthouse
IRON MOUNTAIN – As more information is shared regarding the coronavirus, Dickinson County has implemented additional safety protocols.
At this point, there are no scheduled interruptions in services to the public. However, the county is in continuous contact with the Dickinson-Iron Health Department and the Dickinson County Emergency Management Team to determine if additional steps will be needed.
In order to protect employees and the public, Dickinson County has taking the following actions:
— Inform each department to utilize sanitary solutions to wipe down counters and door knobs on a frequent basis
— Hand sanitizer is available for use in each county department and hand sanitizer stations have been installed around the courthouse and correctional center.
— Members of the public should not visit the courthouse if sick, and may call to conduct business.
— Judges in the 41st Circuit Court are complying with the recommendations of the Michigan Supreme Court and will adjourn civil jury trails and criminal jury trials in which the defendant is out on bond through April 10.
— The courts are working with all related department heads to assure that the public and staff are protected as much as possible, but that the important and essential work of the courts continues.
If the public does have any questions regarding COVID-19, contact the Dickinson-Iron Health Department at 906-774-1868.
