Dickinson restricts access to courthouse
IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County on Thursday put additional courthouse safety protocols in place in regards to COVID-19.
All departments in the courthouse, as well as the county’s Office of Veterans Affairs at the Northern Lights YMCA, will be closed to the general public effective Friday.
“The only admittance will be by appointment only for business that cannot be handled via mail, email or phone or by extreme emergency determined by the department head,” said Brian Bousley, county controller.
Additionally, trial courts are ordered to limit access to courtrooms and other spaces to no more than 10 persons, including staff, and to practice social distancing and limit court activity to only essential functions.
All individuals entering the courthouse will be screened. Those who are ill or have a fever at or in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit will be prohibited from advancing through the screening area.
This protocol will remain in effect until further notice, Bousley said.
