Niagara native graduates from FBI Academy

QUANTICO, Va. — Cpt. Ben Allen of the Green Bay Police Department, is one of 255 law enforcement officers who graduated March 13 from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.

The graduates consisted of men and women from 49 states, 32 countries, five military organizations, and eight federal civilian organizations. FBI Director Christopher Ash delivered remarks at the ceremony.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers 10 weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have 22 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

Ben is the son of Roger and Jeri Allen of Niagara. He graduated from Niagara High School in 1993 and started his career with the Green Bay Police Department in May of 2000.

He has served the Green Bay Police Department as a patrol officer, patrol lieutenant, detective lieutenant, special assistant to the chief, professional standards training lieutenant, and is currently assigned to captain of the investigation division.

He has been awarded the 2018 Respect for Law Award, 2017 Wisconsin Attorney General Top Cop Award, 2016 Supervisor of the Year award, 2016 Legion of Merit medal, 2015 Wisconsin State Patrol Division Award, 2012 Life Saving medal, and the 2010 Field Training Officer of the Year award.
