The Dickinson County chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel awarded a mini-grant of $125 earlier this school year to Loralee Springer, a fifth-grade teacher at East Elementary School in Iron Mountain. Springer used the mini-grant to purchase materials for her fifth-grade science students to create models of the solar system.
