Mini-grant awarded
The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250 mini-grant to the Florence County Natural Resources Center to fund the printing of a brochure regarding the Spread Eagle Barrens. The brochure will highlight the unique habitat, rare species and special land management efforts to inspire the public to explore this 8,418-acre officially designated state natural area, including a map of the land. Wendy Gehlhoff, left, director, accepts the check from Tamara Juul, director of the community foundation. The mini-grant program is supported by fundraisers and donations. It is available throughout the year. For more information contact Juul at 906-774-3131, or go to www.dickinsonareacf.org.
