MENOMINEE — A 40-year-old Menominee man is dead after being found inside a burning home Wednesday morning, the Menominee Police Department said.

Firefighters pulled the man from the residence at 511 13th Ave. after being sent to the structure fire at 5:02 a.m.

Lifesaving efforts were performed and the man was transported to Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area in Marinette, Wis., where he later was pronounced dead, police said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
