DIDHD: Possible virus exposure at IR business

Firebrick Bar and Grill at Young’s Golf and Recreation in Iron River has been identified as a potential COVID-19 exposure site in Iron County, local health officials announced Monday.

Those who visited the facility from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday or 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday may be at higher risk for the virus if larger crowds were present and masking and social distancing guidelines were not consistently followed, said Daren Deyaert, health officer for the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department.

“DIDHD is recommending that anyone who visited this location during the identified time frame above monitor yourself for symptoms of COVID-19 and contact your medical provider should you become symptomatic,” Deyaert said. Symptoms typically appear within two to 14 days, he said.

“The establishment has been cooperative, has patron safety in mind and should not be avoided due to this past potential exposure,” Deyaert added.

DIDHD continues to advise adhering to all recommended social distancing and hygienic practices needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including wearing a face mask, avoiding large gatherings and maintaining social distancing around other people. Avoid sharing personal items such as utensils, water bottles and cell phones.
