KINGSFORD — Breitung Township homeowners may qualify for deferment of payment of their 2020 summer taxes. To defer your payment you must meet the following criteria.

Payment may be deferred until Feb. 14 for principal residence property owned by a taxpayer who: Has a total gross household income of $40,000 or less for the preceding tax year, and is totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic, quadriplegic, or is an eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, or eligible widow or widower, or is at least age 62. There is also a provision for agriculture.

Forms for deferment of taxes must be filed by Sept. 14.

Due to the COVID pandemic, the office is closed to the public until further notice. There are secure drop boxes near the front door and in the rear of the building for your convenience.
