WELLS TOWNSHIP — Escanaba authorities reported a possible tornado west of of the city early Monday evening.

A call came into Central Dispatch about 5:45 p.m. Monday about a tornado touching down about 3 miles west of Escanaba in Wells Township, according to the Escanaba Department of Public Safety as reported by WLUC-TV6.

Later statements reported debris in the roadway and advised people avoid that area.
