KINGSFORD — There were no injuries Thursday after a fire at Northwoods Manufacturing in Kingsford.

Authorities were called to the heavy metal fabrication business on 850 E. Blvd. at 7 a.m., according to a news release from Kingsford Public Safety.

The first units arrived to find Northwoods employees using extinguishers to keep the fire confined to an exhaust stack in a painting booth, the release stated. KPS officers were able to extinguish the remaining fire with minimal damage.

KPS was assisted by the Kingsford Department of Public Works and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
