FELCH TOWNSHIP — Emmalee Massie and Colin Graham were named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, for the North Dickinson High School’s graduating Class of 2021, district officials announced.

— Valedictorian Emmalee Massie is the daughter of Robert and Karla Massie of Hardwood. At North Dickinson County High School, Massie earned all A’s for eight consecutive semesters, ending with a 3.9719 grade-point average. She was student council and senior class president and also participated in band, HOSA — which stands for Health Occupations Students of America — and National Honor Society. She has received departmental awards in geometry, social studies, chemistry and biology.

Massie plans to pursue a nursing degree at Eastern Michigan University in the fall toward becoming a nurse anesthetist.

— Salutatorian Colin Graham is the son of Leonard and Christy Graham of Felch Township. At North Dickinson, Graham earned all A’s for eight consecutive semesters, ending with a 3.945 GPA. He was class vice president as a junior and student council vice president as a senior. He participated in football, basketball, track, robotics, band, National Honor Society and HOSA. He has received departmental awards in algebra, chemistry and pre-calculus. Graham also volunteers at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, helps usher and provide altar service at his church, does highway cleanup and is a volunteer tutor. He worked at Norway Pharmacy as a senior. He plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in biology at Eastern Michigan University this fall toward becoming a physician’s assistant.
