Claire Mongrain, right, was the 2021 recipient of Iron Mountain Public Schools’ first Denim Week Scholarship in the amount of $705. The scholarship was established by the staff at IMPS to be awarded to a student continuously enrolled at IMPS from kindergarten through 12th grade. Staff members paid $20 to wear jeans to school for a week to raise funds for the scholarship. Kindergarten student Gabriella Summerfeld drew the name of the lucky winner at the awards program at IMHS. Mongrain graduated this year.
