Injuries reported in IM area crashes
IRON MOUNTAIN — Four people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. 2 and U.S. 141 in Breitung Township, said state police at the Iron Mountain post.
Troopers responded at approximately 6:51 p.m. and investigation determined that a vehicle operated by 38-year-old Jamie Granquist was eastbound with an 11-year-old passenger when the driver failed to stop at a red light.
The eastbound vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle operated by 35-year-old Amber Fleming with a 3-year-old passenger, as it entered the intersection to turn west onto U.S. 2.
The occupants of both vehicles were transported by ambulance to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, troopers said. All persons involved were wearing seatbelts or in an approved child restraint seat.
Assisting at the scene were Iron Mountain Police Department, Kingsford Public Safety, Integrity Ambulance, and Breitung Township Fire and Rescue.
On Monday, troopers responded to South U.S. 2 in Iron Mountain in the parking lot of the First National Bank branch for a personal injury crash.
A vehicle driven by a 59-year-old Channing woman was westbound when she had a medical emergency. She crossed the centerline, struck a construction barrel, drove across the lawn of Advance Auto Parts and struck two unoccupied parked vehicles in the parking lot of the bank branch.
The driver was transported to the Dickinson County Hospital by Integrity EMS.
