Local health officials Thursday posted six new confirmed COVID-19 positives in Dickinson County and two in Iron County in the past week.

In addition to the new confirmed positives, the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department in its Facebook post Thursday morning listed 17 new probable cases in Dickinson County. The DIDHD was unable to update its number of people now considered recovered from the virus due to a system issue.

The DIDHD had Dickinson County at 2,454 confirmed positives and 366 probable cases, with 2,696 recovered, 72 deaths and 52 cases still active. For Iron County, the agency had 1,011 confirmed cases and 75 probables, with 1,010 recovered, 50 deaths and 26 active cases.

The DIDHD in June cut back to only one COVID-19 update a week when the pace of local coronavirus activity slowed.

No new Michigan statewide data was available Thursday, as the Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website is updated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

For the five Wisconsin counties in the region, the state Department of Health Services’ COVID-19 data site Thursday had 13 new confirmed positives in Marinette County, three in Vilas County, two in Forest County.

The DHS COVID-19 data site Thursday had Marinette County with 4,315 confirmed cases, 495 probable cases and 68 deaths, seven probable deaths; Vilas County, 2,335 confirmed, 149 probable and 42 deaths, three probable; Forest County, 996 confirmed, 84 probable and 24 deaths, three probable; Iron County, 606 confirmed, 120 probable and 21 deaths, 21 probable; and Florence County, 460 confirmed, 57 probable and 13 deaths.

Wisconsin has added 1,397 new positives Thursday for a total of 634,530 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state to date. The state had four new deaths to reach 7,466.
